My Story

Rupa Sai’s parents severely neglected her for being a girl. They considered her a burden and often forced her to do different types of manual work instead of sending her to school. They believed it would be a waste of their money if they were to pay for her to be educated as a girl. Rupa Sai did not receive proper attention or affection from her parents and was often told  that they wished she was a boy. IGP’s social workers learned about Rupa Sai’s situation and successfully confronted her parents for their negligence and intervened on her behalf. Your sponsorship ensures Rupa Sai is enrolled in school and receiving an education. It also provides her with nutritious food and ongoing counseling support from IGP’s social workers who are teaching her the value of being a girl.
