My Story

Tejaswini, a 7-year-old girl with a younger sister, comes from a family of daily-wage laborers struggling with financial constraints. In a society valuing male children, her birth disappointed her parents, who have been neglectful and often blame her for their misfortune. The family, desiring a boy for future support, had similar hopes for their third child but were let down when Tejaswini was born. Subjected to physical and verbal abuse, Tejaswini wishes to attend school, but her parents dismiss the idea, believing that learning household tasks is sufficient for a girl.
