My Story

Lakshmi's family hoped for a boy, but when she was born, her dad wasn't happy and treated her poorly. When her little brother came along, he became the favorite. Lakshmi wanted to go to school, but her family couldn't afford it, so she was forced to do tough work.

IGP Social workers found out about Lakshmi's situation and warned her family about the consequences of mistreating her. Fearing legal consequences, he reluctantly agreed to send Lakshmi to school but requires ongoing counseling to change his mindset.

Even though Lakshmi got the chance to go to school, the tough times at home left deep scars. She needed ongoing support and counseling to overcome the unfair treatment she faced just because she was a girl.
